Peru, South Korea complete legal revision for FTA

Peru and South Korea have completed the legal revision for a bilateral free trade agreement, according to the former’s Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Eduardo Ferreyros.
“With South Korea we have finished the legal revision of the text for the FTA, now we are analyzing the versions in both languages – Korean and Spanish. This process should be completed in the following months,” state news agency Andina reported Ferreyros as saying. “We see this accord will come into affect in all manners in the first half of next year.”
The trade pact between Peru and South Korea was signed in Seoul in November. In the same month, Peru also signed a trade accord with Japan.
The legal revision for that FTA is still being conducted, Ferreyros said. “In that case we will be able to advance quickly because, in parallel, we have been advancing the versions in Japanese and Spanish. We have put all our team to work.”
The Japan-Peru FTA is also expected to come into force in the first half of 2011, the minister said previously.
